The Gospel Road Singers are a West Tennessee based
southern gospel family group. |
| |
| |
It all began on March 27, 1982. George Haggard, Bonnie
Tubbs and
Renee Haggard, George's youngest daughter, made their first appearance.
They sang two songs at a benefit during the afternoon at Parsons Jr.
High School. That night they sang the same two songs at Cub
Creek Hall Baptist Church. That's all they knew! |

| |
From that start came calls to sing at other benefits and
churches. Soon they were spending most weekends traveling and
singing. |

| |
1984 was a year of change for the group. Carla Butler, George's daughter, began singing in
March. Tommy Haggard, George's oldest son, joined the group as bass
player in April. Renee decided to leave the group as piano player and
was replaced by Mark Tubbs in September. Tommy's wife Pam Haggard
began singing in December. |

| |
In 1987 George's youngest son Michael Haggard joined the group as bass singer. |
| |
| |
In 1990 Tommy and Pam left the group. |
| |
| |
In 1992 Michael's wife LaDonna Haggard began singing with the group. |

| |
In 1997 Carla stopped traveling with the group fulltime
to spend more time with her family. She still helps out when
needed. |

Since most members of the group work fulltime, the group
travels on the weekends to sing throughout Tennessee and surrounding
states on a love offering basis. |
